Psychological Assessment

Before beginning therapy, we will start with an initial assessment session. These are typically 50 minutes long for adults and 60 minutes for young people (16+), though extended 90-minute assessments can be offered where needed. This session provides a space to explore your current challenges, personal history, and goals, helping us determine the most suitable approach for your support.

At the end of the assessment, I’ll offer verbal feedback to share my initial impressions and recommendations. This may include suggestions for therapy within HerMind, or, in some cases, guidance towards a more appropriate service or specialist support.

There is an additional charge for any formal documentation (e.g., assessment letters or reports), which can be discussed in advance.

I also offer a comprehensive standalone psychological assessment package, which includes a full written report with detailed findings and recommendations. Please refer to the fees section for pricing.

Please note that I do not offer diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) but I do offer initial screening assessments.

Individual Therapy

Therapy sessions last 45 minutes and are usually weekly, although we can also explore fortnightly or alternative scheduling options to find a rhythm that works best for your needs and preferences. My approach integrates several evidence-based and relational models, including but not limited to:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Psychosexual Therapy

  • Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Each treatment plan is tailored to the individual, drawing on techniques from different therapeutic models based on what feels most helpful and appropriate for your needs. Sessions are regularly reviewed to ensure therapy remains helpful and aligned with your goals.

What I Can Support With

I support women and young women (generally 16+ but there is some flexibility with this) with a broad range of emotional and psychological concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and low mood

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • Identity and self-exploration

  • Relationship and intimacy difficulties

  • Psychosexual concerns

  • Living with physical or long-term health conditions

  • Life transitions, loss, and adjustment

  • Neurodivergent experience

  • Women’s health & wellbeing

Please note: I am not able to work with individuals experiencing an active eating disorder, psychosis, or where there are significant concerns around risk to self.

I am only able to work with UK-based clients.

Working Online

Online therapy, also known virtual or remote therapy, involves speaking with a therapist via a secure video platform. These sessions work in much the same way as traditional face-to-face therapy, with the same standards of professionalism, care, and confidentiality. You will have the opportunity to build a trusting therapeutic relationship, talk through your concerns, and work collaboratively on goals that matter to you - all from the comfort of your chosen space.

Online therapy offers flexibility, comfort, and accessibility - you can attend from a private space that feels familiar to you, without the need to travel. Many clients find that being in their own environment helps them feel more relaxed and open during sessions.

Online therapy also allows greater continuity if you're managing a busy schedule, living in a remote area, or balancing other commitments. As long as you have a quiet, confidential space and a reliable internet connection, support can meet you where you are.

Free 15-Minute Consultation

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it’s important to feel comfortable. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can ask any questions, share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, and see whether it feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure or obligation, just a space to ask questions, share what’s been on your mind, and find out more about how I work. If you are interested in booking a 15-minute consultation, please get in touch using the contact form.
